Billy the Kid
Billy the Kid 1859-1881 Legendary outlaw is said to have killed 21 men, one for every year of his life. Other alias were William H Bonney & Kid Antrium. Shackled with leg-irons and handcuffs, and under guard at Lincoln County Courthouse, "The Kid" escaped and killed two guards. Three months later agter his escape, he was killed by Pat Garrett on July 14, 1881 at Fort Sumner. (Credit: A & S Upham Collection)
